TNI Habema Task Force and Asiafsamaan Village Residents Unite for a Cleaner and Healthier Papua

PAPUA - The Yonif 501/BY Task Force, part of the HABEMA Operations Command, continues to demonstrate its commitment to both security and social welfare in Southwest Papua. On Saturday, February 8, 2025, the spirit of mutual cooperation and public health awareness radiated through a social action program initiated by Task Force Yonif 501/BY in collaboration with the residents of Asiafsamaan Village, Susumuk District, Maybrat Regency.

The program included the "Clean Village" initiative and free medical services for local residents. The event kicked off with a community clean-up, focusing on main roads, public spaces, and environmental facilities. With the enthusiastic participation of local residents, the activity fostered a sense of togetherness and a shared goal of creating a healthier and more comfortable living environment.

"Through this activity, we aim to strengthen our relationship with the community and encourage them to maintain cleanliness. A clean environment ensures better public health, " said Lieutenant Colonel Inf Yakhya Wisnu A., S.Sos., M.Han., Commander of Task Force Yonif 501/BY.

Free Medical Services for the Community

In addition to environmental clean-up, Task Force Yonif 501/BY provided free medical check-ups and consultations, which were warmly welcomed by the residents. The medical team offered health screenings, consultations, and medications for common illnesses. From children to the elderly, people took advantage of the rare opportunity to access medical care.

"We are very grateful for this assistance. It is difficult for us to travel to the city for medical treatment. This activity helps us a lot, " said Mr. Joni, a local resident.
